This course focuses on applied statistics with a particular interest in its usage in actuarial science, i.e. actuarial statistics. Actuarial statistics is used to forecast the amount and probability of future risks in insurance and finance. It defines the process of building a model which can help to create a financial plan from today for undesired risks that might occur in future and cause significant financial losses. This course aims to teach practitioners and academics the theory and common models used in actuarial statistics with applications using freely accessible R-programming language.
